18 metric tons of hilsa exported to India again

A consignment of 18 metric tons of hilsa arrived in four Bangladeshi trucks at Benapole port. The quality control officers of the Customs and Benapole Fisheries Department examined the fish samples and gave permission for export. The hilsas were exported on Thursday evening.
Besides, the first consignment of four metric tonnes of hilsa was also exported to India last night after the extension of time.
Bangladesh’s hilsa exporters are Omi Enterprise 6 Ton, Lucky Enterprise 6 Ton and Riyadh Enterprise 6 Ton, and JK International and Siddheswari Enterprise, the importers from Kolkata, India.
The size of hilsa is one kg to one and a half kg. Hilsa is being exported to India at a price of USD 10 per kg.
Benapole Fisheries Department Quality Control Officer. Ashwadul Haque said that the remaining consignments of hilsa from India started exporting through Benapole port on Thursday night. Each hilsa weighs one to one and a half kg. Hilsa export deadline has been extended till November 5.
Benapole Customs Joint Commissioner Abdul Rashid Mia said that among the remaining consignments of hilsa, export of hilsa to India through Benapole port has started today. Field level officials have been instructed to expedite hilsa export activities.
